CORDELE, Ga. – Cole Denton continued his early-season winning streak over the weekend by dominating Legend car action Saturday at Cordele Motor Speedway.

Denton, the 13-year-old standout from Pascagoula, Miss., raced to his eighth overall win of the season in a 20-lap feature which combined the Young Lions, Charger, and Semi-Pro divisions.

After posting the fastest lap in qualifying – a time of 18.461 seconds – and garnering the pole position for the main event, Denton led every lap around the three-eighths-mile paved oval and bested runner-up and Semi-Pro division winner Cole Robie by 1.383 seconds.

It was the third consecutive race that Denton achieved a clean sweep, dating back to March 23 at Caffeine and Octane’s Lanier Raceway.

Denton’s Cordele victory also marked his sixth straight feature win across three different facilities. He also boasts three Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway Thunder Ring wins and two wins at Lanier in that span.

“To continue our winning streak is unbelievable,” said Denton. “It definitely gives me some confidence as we move toward the summer because I plan to spend the middle of the year competing in the Thursday Thunder Series at Atlanta. I’ve won every race there so far this season, and I believe the consistency of this team will give us a good shot at placing in the top five overall, even if we don’t necessarily win.

“I feel that we can continue to be consistent and have great finishes wherever we go, and being confident and believing in the team around you important for any driver.”

Denton would like to thank 77 Speed Shop, Matt Jones Motorsports, Race Face Brand Development, Race Face Digital, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Myers Construction Co., and City Chevrolet for their continued partnership and support.

The next scheduled event for Cole Denton Racing is April 6 at Nashville (Tenn.) Fairgrounds Speedway.

About Cole Denton Racing

Nicolas “Cole” Denton is a 13-year-old Gulf South racer with dreams of racing at the top level of stock car racing. From Pascagoula, Miss., Denton began racing go-karts at the age of four and advanced into Bandoleros by the time he was eight years old, where his racing brand and nickname were born.

It was in Bandoleros where Denton, a fan of the iconic racing movie Days of Thunder, adopted the No. 46 as his car number and stylized his Bandolero scheme in black and neon green – akin to the same Mello Yello colors that Tom Cruise’s character Cole Trickle campaigned in the 1990 film.

Denton quickly picked up the nickname “Cole Trickle” at his races, and the persona stuck as his racing stock climbed, leading him to continue racing under the name Cole as he advanced and found success.

His breakout season came in 2022, when Denton accrued 40 wins and 59 podium finishes in 62 starts en route to the INEX Bandolero national championship, leading him into his first year in Legend cars last season.

Away from the driver’s seat, Denton is an avid iRacer, cyclist, and push scooter racer. He also practices flying on a flight simulator and attends both local and NASCAR races as his schedule permits.
